Shopping with Bev and the Boys...

I love when I have to work in Seguin, Texas on Wednesday...
Wednesday... That's the day that Glory B's Cottage opens for the weekend...
so it's the first day of the week for Beverly...
which means her shop is full of treasure...
and this Wednesday was no exception...
everywhere you look... treasures to be found...
every shelf, every tabletop...
every place that is any place to put something...
Beverly will find a wonderful way to display...
some treasure... somewhere... (oops! how did Bev get into the mirror photo! wink-wink)
This table has sat in the middle of the front room in Glory B's Cottage...
for as long as I have been shopping there... (NFS)...
The table has sat there... but the treasure on top...
it's ever-changing...
so are you wondering what came home with me?
A heart... made by Beverly herself... (I had to promise not to show her face... she said she was a mess... she wasn't!)
A vintage hand-made crib quilt... $12.99... yes... no kidding
An orphaned saucer and 3 pearl and rhinestone buttons...
and a vintage veil... probably a communion veil because of the size...
Beverly only takes cash or checks... and me.. I only had $42... all of which Beverly got to keep... So this sweet angel sitting on top of that table...
Well... Beverly put a sold sign on it for me...
and I'll bring more cash on Saturday...
..../~~~~~~~~~~~\....
The on my way out of town....
The Unique Boutique and The Curious Boys...
How about a vintage paneled door... $29.99...
or a vintage crystal chandelier... $59.99... (no kidding!)
The Boys were having a 10% off sale...
So I had to buy something... (even though Beverly already had all my money...)
I love vintage silver candlesticks... $9.99... these are truly lovely...
or this fabulous chicken wire basket... $11.99... (this will be gone by the time I get back there!)
this isn't the best photo...
but do you see the matching set of vintage chandeliers...
to die for!
or a rustic piece of architecture... yep... took this one home...
so... home again... I draped the veil over a vintage lamp's shade...
and the little boy in the frame...
that was a treasure found by the Curious Boys and brought home...
by me...
Down here in French Lique...

Happy Treasure hunting to all...
and... good night "T"...

It's Springtime at French Lique in Blue Hills...

Saturday was spent in my booth... adding... straightening... hanging... making ready for Spring! I'm exhausted! So now, before I go Pink Saturday Visiting... I promised #2 & #3 daughters... and Sweet Sister, that I'd post a few photos of my work... ! Blue Hills was alive with lots of booth vendors getting things ready for Spring just like me... and lots and lots of customers... hope they all found a little treasure today!

This is the view entering my booth... my favorite inanimate gal... Matilda... awaits your arrival and beckons you in...

This is one of those giant birdcages... this one is very rusty and rustic... so I filled it with a grapevine wreath, a large birds nest and lots of silk flowers and Easter eggs... Now it's not just shabby... It's Cottage Shabby Chic!

Here's one of my little green garden chairs with it's Lilly Pulitzer napkin seat... and Sweet Sister made cute little pillows with ball fringe... I just love them. This morning I added vintage pink buttons to the center of the green throw pillows... after looking at them all week... I just thought they needed a little something...

The booth is so small... I loaded the table up with vintage china and glassware..

One adorable little lady came into my both today while I was setting up and asked.. "is it time for tea?"
But of course Cherie!

This is Sweet Sister's corner... Those are little fabric yo-yo refrigerator magnets that Sis makes with scraps left over from her apron creations... they're so cute... all hand stitched...

A broader view of Sweet Sis's corner... She has some pretty Fenton glassware for sale too...

Here's Matilda again... Beckoning you in... saying "Come on down here to French Lique"...

The Fairies of French Lique...

The little band of French Lique Fairies arrived bright and early... and quickly went to work moving treasure from the back to the front...

Faster than you could say "Tinker Belle"... the old booth was empty and the new booth filled to the brim!

Other than a quick "frappuccino" coffee break... and a timely shopping trip though the Blue Hills Antique Mall... my little fairies worked tirelessly...

Fairy Lili flew in all the way from Mississippi to lend a hand...

and tackled one project after another...

Fairy Terry and Fairy Candy worked together to hang the fairy lights... (I mean, what would a fairy land be without fairy lights!) and hang pictures and frames...

and lend their artistic eyes to the placement of each treasure...

Fairy Lili paused to admire their work...

Little by little... just like magic... the New French Lique Booth was transformed... The sweet fairies wouldn't leave until everything was in it's place...

...and turned into a beautiful little place of white and pink....

...of flowers and angels and clocks that "tic-toc"...

Yes, all is well, thanks to my little band of Fairies... down here in French Lique...

ps... wasn't it nice of the Blue Hills folks to leave me just a splash of red in my booth... pun intended...

Wanna Peek?

Giving this old iron lawn table and chairs a new life...

Spray paint... what a wonderful invention... the color...

Green Apple by Rust-Oleum Painters Touch... It's the perfect summer green for this old vintage find...

A little hard to show you the color clearly on this bright sunny Texas afternoon...
The chairs were rusty white and the table... a coral pink... haven't painted the table yet... can you guess what complementary color the table will be? I hope to get the table painted Tuesday... a soft Sweet-Pea Pink... and give the chairs another coat of Apple Green..
and if you're wondering... yes... this pretty little set will be going into my new booth location... maybe this week (if I can get the seats recovered in time!). I picked a pretty Lilly Pulitzer fabric to cover them in...
Just painting to my hearts contentment... down here in French Lique!
I'm joining Diane for 2nd Time Around Tuesday... so hop on over and see who else is joining in...

A little paint is an amazing thing...

The transformation that occurs when you paint a room is always amazing to me... way back in high school... er... circa 1972... I remember painting my bedroom a pretty apple green and painting the trim in my room stark white.. I loved it... and my dad just said... "it's you"... I've been transforming rooms with paint ever since...

and thank goodness that I married a man with the sweetest heart in the world... any hair-brained idea I come up with (moving my booth from the back to the front on a whim!)... he goes along with... and not only goes along... but helps me accomplish...

so remember this? Now, it looks like this... and this...
now looks like this...

The base painting is done... and the true Metamorphosis begins... My little band of fairies arrive Friday morning at 10 am. Crazy Candy, Tiny Terry and Loving Lili will help me transform this fresh white painted room into a place of ... well you'll just have to come back and see... We're busy as little bees down here in French Lique...
Metamorphosis Monday is hosted by one of my favorite decorating bloggers, Susan at Between Naps on the Porch... If you'd like to see more of Metamorphosis Monday participants, link here to visit Between Naps on the Porch...

and PS... I'm sooooooo far behind visiting for Silver Sunday and Pink Saturday... and now Met Monday... okay... I'm peddling as fast as I can... I want to see it all!

Hi-Ho Hi-Ho... it's off to Paint we go!...

Yes... fellow booth owners... I'm moving my booth... My current booth is in the "way-back" of the Blue Hills Antique Mall... you literally have to go through 12 different rooms and down 2 hallways to get to my booth.
So when junkin' with Candy and Terry Thursday, I found this booth available... and you only have to go through one other room to get back to this booth...

It's a sweet kitchen/dining setting with a pretty window... and lots of cabinet space... see the glass doors... Candy thinks "it's perfect!"

It also has lots of nails and screws in the walls... and
some very UGLY wallpaper... and unpainted lattice... oh! and the ceiling fan... can't forget that! Laurie Smith would just die!

and a bottom half thats a dirty green... the top... taupe?
but I like this little corner shelf..
This is the wall opposite the cabinets and window... a lattice see-through to another booth... and more shelves...

Here are the shelves on the window wall under the cabinet... along with "not my favorite flooring..."

and not so beautiful counter tops...
But the window... I love the window...
So today, Sunday, the transformation begins.. Ricky and I are headed to Geronimo to do a little cleaning and painting...
Then next Friday my sister, Lili, is coming from Mississippi to help move the booth!... Candy (and maybe Terry) will be there too...
Something tells me there'll be margaritas to post about again next week...
Wish me luck... down here in French Lique...
