Pink Saturday... Rodeo Pink

Thank you to Miss Beverly at How Sweet the Sound, who sponsors Pink Saturday every week. Please visit her blog and link to over 100 other participants who love pink and post it every Pink Saturday.

I'm not sure if your PINK Gals know just how much Cowgirls and the Rodeo LOVE PINK! Well, if you didn't know before, you're going to find out here, this week. Welcome to Pink Rodeo Saturday at French Lique, Texas...

Here, a Pink Cowgirl... all ready to do some serious barrel racing... in her PINK!

Of course, sometimes we fore go the traditional Cowgirl Hat for something a little more practical... A PINK "Cowgirl UP" cap! I'll explain "Cowgirl UP" in a minute.

I really like this poster from 2008... "All Our Heroes Are Cowgirls"! It's not really PINK, but I'm using poetic license here... It's a PINK thought...

This is some PINK barkcloth fabric that I gave to my step-daughter #2, which she turned into a great vest for my sweet step-niece. She'll be sporting her vest while showing her livestock at the Stock Show part of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo...
Don't you just love this!
I love the piles and piles of PINK Cowgirl Hats... just sittin' right there for the pickin' at the Rodeo Sale Booths. There is lots of Cowgirl gear, jewelry and furniture. Next week, I'll remember to take my camera so I can get some better pics!
"Cowgirl UP"... second most asked question behind "Where the heck is... "... I digress...
"Cowgirl UP"
Be your own woman, make your own path, and take responsibility for who you are and what you do. Do what you gotta do and don't be scared. To step up to a challenge; to toughen up; to make something happen, as opposed to just complaining about it; taking charge of a situation.
Now, if you're not really a Cowgirl, well, you may not want to use this phrase... 'cause people think you're kind stupid...(according to Urban Dictionary). Just thought I'd let you know the rest of the story...
Think this is a belt don't 'cha? Nope, it's a PINK hatband!

and the grand finale'... my PINK Cowgirl Boots... Yeehaw!
Well gals, that's it. My PINK Saturday post about the Rodeo. The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo continues in San Antonio through next week... So I'll be thinking about, going to, and blogging about the rodeo for the next 10 days... It's okay... It only comes 'round once a year and then I come back down to earth. For those that have told me they've never been to a Rodeo, but would love to... well... (you knew I was going to say this didn't you?)...
COWGIRL UP and get on down to French Lique!

Beautiful pink Cowgirl stuff! My daughter was never allowed by her dad to get into the large animals but she anted them. She did get to help her Granddaddy feed the cattle. She had to raise rabbits. But she did win and use a San Antonio Livestock Scholarship at A&M.

Happy Valentine's Day.

Love your pinks! If I used to live in Okla. and went to the rodeo, rode horses and had cowboy boots (not Pink) do I qualify for COWGIRL UP?

Happy Valentines day!

Love that fabric, and I love the "Cowgirl Up" definition. I'm not a cowgirl, but I sure may use that expression some time. Those pink boots are Sooooo pretty! Happy Valentine's Day. laurie

OK, I'm really likin' that definition of CowgirlUP! I thought it was all about swaggering around pretending that getting stepped on by a horse was no big deal. "...to make something happen, as opposed to just complaining about it..." Great words!!

I so understand the lure of the Rodeo. When we lived in Tucson, the schools actually closed down for Rodeo Days, thursday and friday of Rodeo Week! They'd been doing that since I was a kid and no one has thought it ruins the "no child left behind" jargon!!
Looking forward to the rest of your pics of your BIG rodeo!!

Oh, I am such a "Cowgirl" at heart. I so remember being a young person and having school out for a week for the rodeo at Will Rogers Memorial Colliseum in Ft. Worth. I went every day and loved all the events. Thanks for sweet memories, and Cowgirl Up. Hugs, Marty

Loved your pink cowgirl stuff! I've been to the rodeo at Madison Square Garden in NYC during the 1950's. How many people can say that? That was during my Roy Rogers/Dale Evans, Sky King, Gene Autry days. As a child I wanted to be a cowgirl. There weren't too many in my NYC suburb. I've also been to the Houston Rodeo once. I didn't even know San Antonio had one. Have fun and Happy Pink Saturday!

Pretty in pink, you, your home, your baby..your house, just everything. Pink is perfectly precious, unprentious and passionate. I could go on and on giving you a whole long list of adjective's discribing "pink" but..I really should cut this short. I LOVE your blog. I really do! And, oh, the pink! :) Couldn't you just lay down and roll in it? Gobble it up?! Well, you get the idea!
The Valentine gift your son gave you is lovely! What a keepsake!
Happy Valentines Day!

Oh, I love all that stuff. I really love that barkcloth fabric. how totally cool!!! So - are you a cowgirl? do you rope and ride? I wanted to buy a pair of coral-pink cowgirl boots, but I decided not to, worried i wouldn't ever really wear them.

Or is wearing cowgirl boots the thing that turns us into cowgirls? What do you think?

Happy Pink Saturday, oh, and ♥Valentine's Day♥ too!! What a beautiful pink day today. Thanks so much!

PS: A little late. Spent the day and evening yesterday with my little grandsons. Nothing like three, handsome men for distraction!

I'm glad rodeo gals have gone pink. You never saw pink at rodeos back when I went to them in the 50s. I went to the Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo two different years. Also went to rodeos in Denver and Greeley, Colorado and one in Lawton, Oklahoma. When I moved back to California in 1955 I kinda lost interest in rodeos.
BTW, you made my hubby's day by your comment on his blog today.
Have a great week.

A comment for your other blog:
It is a great tribute to love. We used to have a renewal of vows event at our church every year when we lived in Stockton. We called it Wedding Bells Ceremony. We always had a lot of couples participating. So, Hubby and I have renewed our vows many times over the years. The church we go to now also has a renewal of vows time, but we decided since we've made it for over 50 years maybe we don't need to do it anymore. However, it probably wouldn't hurt. lol
