Not your average housewife...

When I read my blog friend Joan's posts this morning I laughed out loud. Joan's blog is called How to be a Housewife, and I love it because Joan give lots of little hints on getting things done around the home; but she also has a great sense of humor, and often makes me laugh out loud at some of the things she says... and the way that she says them. She is a passionate consumer advocate for decency in advertising... and frequently makes the rest of us aware of some pretty ugly tactics companies take to reel in younger consumers...

So her post today was about how she'd spent the entire day on the computer, realized it was 15-minutes before her husband got home, and how one could complete all of their housewifely duties in those 15 short minutes... (of course she wrote it in 3rd party as though it were someone else).

The truth is... I'm not a housewife. I go to work everyday outside the home. I don't stay on a schedule of homemaking... and sometimes... I only get the very basic stuff done. I'd like to be better at this housewife stuff... but lets face it... it's not how I spend my time... I'm not your average housewife... in fact I'd venture to say I'm a little below average in that department. Which brings me to today's post...

As I told Joan on her blog post... I'd just meet Ricky at the door with nothing but my apron on, and he'd pretty much overlook the undone chores.... Enjoying thoughts of someday being a much better housewife, but admitting that being a Scarlett O'hara is often more adventurous than being June Cleaver... if you're willing to fore go perfection for a little down home fun... especially down here in French Lique!

it might work on the inlaws... but you probably wouldn't like the results! ;)
