The Joys of White Paint... the before and the after...

Remember this glider bench from Rhondi's Porch Party last week... I hadn't had time to paint them (we have 2 on the front porch)...

Last Saturday... it took me all day long to do it... but I painted one of them...

the perfect white... just like the rest of the porch furniture... and dressed it back up... see the still unpainted bench to the left... next weekend...
and maybe you remember this basket I found when shopping Wimberley Trade Days with Candy in April... I'd been looking for so long... ever since admiring Susan's basket of Daisies on her front door... I paid $3 for this one...
It too received a nice coat of white paint... and Voila'... (or as I told Keetha we say in Texas...) "Thar ya go..."
ain't she pretty? There's a little tattered bottom part and I haven't decided whether or not to fix it (I enjoy the imperfection of things); so for now... it remains tattered... but I love this Basket of Daisies on my front door... Thank you Susan for the inspiration!

I love white painted porch furniture. The glider looks perfect. I would love to curl up on it. The daisies are so pretty in the white basket too. I also really love the tattered look. Just perfect. Hugs, Marty

What a difference. I liked the unpainted bench but you were right to paint it white...what a knockout now and the white basket with daisies is perfection!

What a pretty setting, Dixie. The white certainly made a difference, and your pillows are the "icing on the cake." Love your wicker basket, too, and I think its tattered look just adds personality.

Oh Dixie!!I love the before and after photos! What a difference white paint (and a whole day of work does)! The little white vase is just too cute and I love the tattered edge, too!
Thanks so much for sharing the fruits of your labor and love!

HI Dixie! Oh, how pretty your glider is in white and those gorgeous pillows you've set there! I love the long basket too. I need one of these. Well, actually, I need two!!
I have an old glider my mother recently gave me and I need to paint it. You've given me inspiration!
Thanks for popping in to see me today!

Your porch is even MORE gorgeous now!! If I'm ever in TX, I'm coming to sit on your porch. I don't need anything, just 15 minutes on your porch, relaxing...

Hi Dixie, I just love your mix of rustic and girly. I think there is a little bit of pink an white in even the toughest cowgirl. Just promise me you won't paint the wagon wheel I see on the other side of the railing!

Thanks for the Honorary Texan comment. There are some Texans a ways back in my heritage. It shows through now and then. I love tacos, are they bigger in Texas?

Leave the tatter on the basket. It adds character. I have a friend from Houston who's always saying, "So thar' ya go."

How pretty and what a wonderful way to give these items new life. They look so fresh.
I like the little unraveling at the bottom too.

Like your background. So pretty.

Your glider came out really great...and the daisies are sooo cheerful. I think I like the basket best with it's little imperfection...just makes it that much more special.

Your glider looks wonderful painted. I love how it turned out. And the daisy basket, just too cute, or rather pretty. Well, you know what I mean. I love how that turned out too.

Hi Dixie! I LOVE spray paint! Isn't it wonderful? Your glider looks glorious! And your basket...not even recognizable. Love it! I say leave the tatter...it has personality! I went up into the attic today and stared at the wicker headboard I need to spraypaint black. It's a start! lol Have a great weekend...hugs...Debbie
