Baby Girl in Dallas wakes up to SNOW!

Baby Girl woke up this morning to this! Her mama... (that's me...) called to check on her about 9am (she goes to work at 10am)... She was still snug in the bed and hadn't looked out the window just yet... "Sweetheart... it's snowing up there... Fort Worth already has 3-inches"... she jumped out of bed and looked out the window... "holy cow Mom...! I've got to get moving!" Mom, in her infinate wisdom, told Baby Girl... "take a change of clothes, your pillow and blankie... just in case you get stuck at work!" She did.

Now you northern gals might think this is nothin'... but in Dallas...

This is a lot of snow!

She called from the road... "Mom! I hope I can find work... I don't recognize anything!"

Mom (that's me) said... "Get off the phone and be careful... call me AFTER you get to work safely!"... she did.. and she did...

Dog-Gone Global Warming! HAPPY PINK VALENTINE SATURDAY EVERYBODY!

wonder if we'll get some snow today down here in French Lique?...

ps... Baby Girl supplied photos via her phone.. ain't the 21st Century just the bomb!

  4. I'm in Arlington and the snow is great! We have had lots more than we usually do and its still snowing! Hope your daughter gets home from work ok. So far, I don't think the roads are freezing. My husband works in Carollton (near dallas) and he's leaving early today!

  5. No snow in Georgetown either, but it is very cold and wet - yuck! I only hope this winter means we'll have a nice wildflower display. So strange, snow in Texas and Canada is having to bring in snow for the Olympics - go figure! Kathy

  10. I heard on the news this morning that Dallas was getting some snow. I told my husband, in between my fits of coughing, that the weather down there had better improve by the time my friends and I head to Canton. He reminded me we had a month and a half for it to "warm up"!

Thanks for your well wishes. Yep, I'm still puny. Just gotta be patient till I get over it.

Hope your daughter made it OK!! L, Dana

  13. I have to tell you Dixie, it's beautiful...cold...but beautiful! So far where we're at, we've gotten about 5" and more before morning. I've lived in N. Texas my whole life and I can't remember when I've seen this much snow...big flakes falling straight down. The roads aren't bad yet, but I'm afraid of what tomorrow's rush hour is going to be like. I'll say this...it sure the heck beats our usual Texas snow...this stuff on the ground is actually white!

  14. We're supposed to get snow here in Alabama. I'll believe it when I see it. We haven't had a good snow since 1993. I even went to the grocery store today expecting a mad house. Nope. Very small crowd.
