I posted about this sweet little Birch Bark Wreath that I bought for $1 at Marshall's, last Thursday ... I asked for some ideas on how to use it... I was coming up blank... Well... help I got... there were some wonderful ideas, and some I'll try in the future... but this morning I sat in my living room, looking at this candle... went to my office and picked up the wreath... Simple and Easy... since I already had everything I needed for this "project"... and Thanks to Debbie for the suggestion...
I had some burlap twine that came wrapped around a velvet bag holding a nice bottle of wine... a Christmas gift...

Those are the best solutions...those 2 minute ones! Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteWe lost internet this weekend and just got back up and running. That thang on the roof just couldn't take the cold tempts. we had recently. But I missed silver Sunday and all my favorites for Monday. The good news is I got some laundry and cleaning done and have a pile of pretties priced and ready for the booth.
The count down is ticking to Thursday. What will I be looking for? Pink? Silver? blue...green...red...gold...yellow...anything and everything. Looking forward to seeing Glory B and some new venues.
Are we going to meet in G?
Perfect! Don't you just love those quick, easy and totally inexpensive solutions!!

ReplyDeleteYes, that was a quick and easy...revamp, re-use...
APPLAUSE!!!
Dixie, that is very cute, but the paranoid side of me wants to say be careful when you blow out the candle so that a small spark you don't happen to see hits that dry bark and gets hidden in it!!! Fire around anything dry....just scares me to death. I had a candle fire once. It was one of those candles that they put embellishments into the wax, like cinnamon sticks or dried flowers etc...well when the candle burned down, the embellishments started on fire!!!! Needless to say, I only buy plain wax candles and only keep on a surface that can't burn, like my granite counter. You know how sometimes you blow out a candle and a teeny tiny spark flies ? well, on the news at Christmastime they showed a Dallas house burn down because the family blew out a candle and a spark floated over to the christmas tree! Just scary. Sorry to be a downer, but better safe than sorry my friend. xo
ReplyDeletethe candle is inside a glass candle jar... and I use a snuffer to put out my candles.. safer that way..
ReplyDeleteDixie, I am of the "less is more" school of decorating and I love your idea for your wreath. It's so pretty and simple and the twine is the "icing on the cake!"
ReplyDeleteLove it--it looks so old fashioned wild west :-)
