"E" is for...

Okay.. At first you may think this a bit odd... But let me explain...

"E" is for Eulogies..

I know... Weird huh?  I had a hard time coming up with what "E" is for... I mean there are so many to choose from... E book, eggplant, elope...  But Eulogies?!...

Sitting in church, at Ricky's uncle's funeral... I started thinking about the eulogy of Uncle Clements... How does the family come up with the words that they use to sum up their loved ones life... In his case... Uncle Clements was 82.  That's a lot of life to sum up...

So today... Let me suggest that you put together a list, or a few paragraphs of the things that you'd like for you loved ones to share in your Eulogy... I know it sounds weird.. But think about it...  You might see the wisdom of these words...

Outgoing
Loved life and her family
Graduated from Old Miss
Loving wife, mother and grandmother
Liked her grands better than her children
Spoiled her poodles
Loved to shop for junk
Loved to decorate
And then redecorate
Never met a bottle of wine she didn't enjoy
Was a language snob
Loved French and English
Always wanted to go back to Paris
Loved Italy
And the Vatican
Semi-devout Catholic
Christian...

Blessings... from Down Here in French Lique...

Sounds good to me Dixie. Better than mine. She had no friends as she lived far from anywhere. Soured in her old age like a bad wine. Just kidding. I do have a few friends but they've moved away, but I am getting cranky in my old age.

I just read the obituary of a gentleman named William Freddie McCullough. If you get a chance, google it. Oh mylanta...it is the best obit I've ever read and I just hope my family speaks and remembers me in such a loving and funny way.
Maybe if I leave 'em a set of notes...
See you next week?

I collect obits that are fun. Really. My favorite is just like you said. Forget all the usual stuff. I want them to know that I never wanted to stop learning and loved corgis and dachshunds with a passion and that my number one decorating must for each and every room was books, books that were read, not just for pretty. That I thought pretty china was just as important as soft toilet paper and that I missed my calling and should have raised alpacas as well as having had at least 20 more dachshunds than I had in my lifetime.

You get the picture. I like this E.
