Crafty Ideas Welcome Here...

This little Birch Bark Wreath was such a good bargain... I couldn't resist. It's only about 8-inch diameter... too small for a door wreath... but what to do with it? So far, I tried a few dried white Hydrangea flowers... didn't look right to me... Now, the only other idea I've come up with is tying a ribbon loosely and hanging it in a window...

I mean... for $1.00 I just couldn't leave it... I had to have it... right?
Now all I have to figure out is WHAT to do with it...

Crafty Ideas Welcome Here... not only that...
Crafty Ideas Needed Here...
What would you do with this little treasure
down here in French Lique?

  1. Adore it!
I would take old pieces of vintage paper with calligraphy...tear random sizes...
and then adhere them all about the wreath...

ultimate goal to make the wreath appear as though it used to be made entirely of old paper...

but time, love and use...has worn some of the old lettering away...

    Ok that's my idea!!!

But oh for 1.00 you have a mighty Queen's treasure!

  2. I'm afraid, I'm like you, I have no clue. Despite the fact I can paint I'm not very creative, that is the talent my Sis inherited. But for $1.00, I'd grabbed it too.
Be sure and let us know How you finally do it.

  5. Well, I'd say add a big ole burlap bow and a strip of burlap to use as the hanger and be done with it.
    It will look great.

Thanks for commenting on my pillows.
I love it when you come by.

  8. you and Candy and Candy and you ... shop, shop and shop....
I love it...yaw remind me of my sister and I.

I would put a satin bow on the little gal and hang her on a bedpost or the back of a chair.
Or do something "rough luxe", a dried rose, ribon and some old broche or earing.
I have some that size made from grapevine... brag, brag... 5 for a $1.00.. I used them for statuary crowns...now, I am thinking of putting them in an urn then placing straw in the middle and bird eggs...presto nest!

  9. DEAR DIXIE,
WHAT I WOULD SUGGEST IS USE IT THE WAY IT IS AS A CANDLE RING...BUY OR IF YOU HAVE A LARGE CANDLE....EITHER SILVER, BURGANDY OR PINK...IT WOULD HAVE TO BE THE RIGHT COLOR AND THEN TAKE SILVER BRADS AND PUNCH THEM INTO THE CANDLE...MAKING ABOUT 4 CIRCLES ALL THE WAY AROUND OR ON THE FRONT SIDE DO AN INITIAL IN BRADS....THEN ME LOVING SOLITARY PICTURES OF TREES WOULD FIND AN AWESOME PICTURE OF THAT TREE AND PUT IT IN A FRAME BESIDE IT AND IN A SMALLER FRAME ON THE OTHER SIDE DO A PICTURE OF THAT TREE'S LEAF.....THEN I WOULD HAVE TO TRY DIFFERENT TEXTURES TO SET IT ON BUT YOU MIGHT TRY A TULLE WITH JUST A LITTLE FLUFF TO SET IT ON......YOU COULD USE IT AS A CROWN ON A DOLL IF IT WAS THE RIGHT SIZE...LIKE A WOODLAND ANGEL....YOU COULD ALSO PUT IT ON SOME OF THOSE BUST STATUES OF WOMEN AS A CROWN....
I DON'T KNOW DIXIE...I WILL BE ANXIOUS TO SEE WHAT YOU COME UP WITH
    ANGEL HUGS
    SIMPLY DEBBIE

  12. Hey Dixie-

Of course you had to have it.
I would put a chunky white or cream candle in the middle and enjoy-

    Have a great weekend,
