Junkin' in Geronimo with Candy... part 2...

I love Junkin' with Candy... Here are the treasures (one woman's trash....) that I bought yesterday... and a hint, here and there, of what they are to become...

a pretty ceiling medallion ($2.99)... the color... Terry loved! But Dixie... not so much... I'll be painting this one a pretty creamy white before mounting on the ceiling in the guestroom... sounds like a future Met Monday post to me... in fact... I think we have a few of them here...
an "enamel basin"... also known as a "dish pan" here in Texas... $16 but with the 25% off... $12! This has a destiny... it will become a fountain on the front porch... glass bowl? nope... a vintage light fixture globe (a bargain at $8.99)... Candy talked me into this one... it is to become a feeder for the birds... hanging from a tree... I can hardly wait to see how it turns out!

a giant basket for carrying dishes to the porch... $4... Glory Be!

shakers... vintage reproductions... but only $6.99... they both sport an "S" on the tops... but they fit in nicely with my vintage depression glass...

a wonderful vintage wind up alarm clock... that actually keeps time... and it found a place on the book shelves in my office... fantastic at $4.50...

and Candy wasn't the only one that found a shabby and chippy birdcage at Glory B's Cottage... I love this one and it fits perfectly on the porch... $20... talked her down from $25... I don't know what I'll do with it... but I like it...

and last but not least... a pretty pink vintage tablecloth for the porch... $15 but 50% off... so only $7.50... oh my gosh... I loved this one...

Well, that's it... enough excitement for one day! Now, there are chores to do and clothes to wash... much to do down here in French Lique...

I'm with you ~ the pink vintage table cloth is a treasure and at such a great price. And I love your new opening shot, the mix of fabrics on the chair and oh how lovely this all looks with the new tablecloth. Hope you have lots of time to spend relaxing on your beautifully inviting porch.

Hi Dixie, I love the way you showed us the items separately and told how you would use them. So much better than seeing a pile of items.

Wow Dixie, you found some great things - and great prices too! I can't wait to see how the birdfeeder turns out. Such a great idea, DH and I are trying to learn about attracting more birds to our yard and I figure if we feed them, they will come lol. Of course, I have to figure out how to keep the squirrels away - any suggestions? Love the tablecloth, it really is beautiful. What a great trip. Hugs, Kathy

It is such a good thing I wasn't with ya'll. We would have been fighting over everything you bought. That tablecloth is absolutely wonderful, and I cannot wait to see your "dish pan" fountain, since I have several of those basins. It sounds like ya'll had such fun! laurie

Oh Dixie girl, you found some awesome treasures! I was just at Candy's and fell for that white hat. What a dream! I adore your S/P shakers and the medallion is going to look even more amazing when you do your magic on it. The tablecloth..I think you really scored on that purchase. I have a hard time finding vintage tablecloths. My favorite is the Westclox. I remember my grandma having a hoard of these around her little house. I love that you used it for your banner.

DH and I are heading to Austin tomorrow and I hope I can find some wonderful thrift shops there. We're not to familiar with the city but I'm taking a printed out list of shops. Hopefully most of them are still in business! LOL!

Hugs,
Deanna :D
