Happy 58th Wedding Anniversary...

Other than my Ricky and my children and grandchildren, These two are my favorite people in the world! Thursday is their 58th wedding anniversary. Uncle A will be 85 years young in March and Aunt C will be 79 in June.

They are a testament to marriage and love. Ricky and I sit with them nearly every week at church. They still hold hands during the sermon. They are happy, joyful people; deeply devoted to the Lord and to each other. Every week Uncle A greats me with "Hello there good-lookin'", to which I reply, "Hi Handsome"... then I get a little peck on the cheek and a hug. What a charmer!

Do you see that they're holding hands in the photo above? How cute! They're so precious. What a handsome couple they are!
They'll never see this post... they don't blog (imagine that!)... So, I post this for me, because I adore these two people and I hope I have them in my life for many years to come.
Last Christmas Eve after mass, Ricky and I dropped by their house to deliver some Christmas candy and cookies. We sat at the kitchen table and drank a bottle of wine together (they lace their's with sprite!), and talked for a couple of hours. As Ricky and I got ready to leave, Uncle A said... "I enjoyed this, let's do this every year on Christmas Eve". That made my heart smile... Hopefully, we will, for many Christmas Eve's to come.

Happy Anniversary Love Birds...

Just livin' the good life down here in French Lique!

  1. What a nice couple. My husband and I married later in live so we will never see 58 years (married) together. But you can bet we are sure trying to cram as much living as we can into our lives together.
    Sweet tribute!
    Have a fantastic day!

  8. Dear Dixie, this is such a sweet post. Uncle A reminds me of my Uncle B...he is about the same age by now. The men of those days sure liked their women! "hey good lookin"!! I can't imagine how much it meant to them to have you stop by Christmas Eve. Imagine you and Ricky at that age to have some youngin's come by and share some wine and stories!!! That is very special indeed.

Thank you for stopping by my Canton post! 7 hours is a long drive...but to make a 3 or 4 day trip and see the grandbabes (kids) and shop....WHOO HOO!!! Hope you make it this spring! Hugs to you. Cheryl
