Since my very first Blue Monday with Miss Smiling Sally, I have thought of this song. The song... "Blue", sung by the incrediblely talented LeAnn Rimes. LeAnn is from the town I spent my middle and early high school years... Pearl, Mississippi. I knew some of those Rimes boys, but didn't know her daddy... and LeAnn, well, she was just a twinkle in her daddy's eye when I lived there...
But what a voice this girl has... She was just a girl the first time I heard her sing on Star Search... remember that? Today she is a beautiful young woman with an unbelieveable voice. I love this song because it reminds me of one of my favorite female country singers... Miss Patsy Cline...
So, my contribution to Miss Sally's Blue Monday, is "Blue", sung by Miss LeAnn Rimes... I hope you enjoy... This one's for you Miss Sally! (just turn the music off on my sidebar & listen to LeAnn).

ReplyDeleteDIXIE,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LEANN...SHE IS ONE OF THE FEW STARS THAT HAS BEEN ABLE TO KEEP HER HEAD ABOUT HER.
I GREW UP WITH PATSY CLINE...MY MOTHER AND DADDY LOVED HER AND HAVE EVERY RECORD ALBUM SHE EVER MADE....I CAN JUST HEAR HER....I FALL TO PIECES.........THERE IS ONE ALBUM COVER I LOVE OF HERS WHERE SHE IS SETTING DOWN AND HAS HER ARMS WRAPPED AROUND HER LEGS AND SHE IS WEARING THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GOLD BOOTS...I USE TO TELL MYSELF WHEN I GREW UP I WAS GOING TO HAVE A PAIR OF BOOTS JUST LIKE THAT AND I SAID THE VERY SAME THING WHEN NANCY SINATRA SANG...THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKIN' AND THATS JUST WHAT I'M GONNA DO...THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKIN'...WALKIN' ALL OVER YOU...ARE YOU READY BOOTS...START WALKIN'....
BLESSINGS

Good morning Dixie! Thanks for your visit this morning. My first Lladro was a personally signed Asian woman by Lladro given my sister to me for Christmas in 1982 and that got me hooked. She is an avid collector, she was even featured in Lladro's video. She gave me another signed one, a cherub playing the flute. I still have them and they are in perfect condition. If you enlarge the pics, you will probably see them. I still have some in FL that I have to move here but I can only hand carry them when I travel so I bring them one by one....Christine

Hi Dixie, I just found your blog, but feel like we have a lot in common....I too live in Texas and my husband was born and raised in Cuero...I remember LeaAnn when she started out and love to hear her sing. We are country music fans here.
ReplyDeleteCome and visit me and add me to your list if you wish.
Dixie...LOVE the Blue song...so creative you are my dear French Lique, Texan gal! ;) I'm being serenaded while I write you. I'm going to email this post to my mother, who is an AVID country fan, and it will make her day like it has mine! Don't FORGET to check out my post today...it's got your name in my dear! ;) Happy Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteGreat pick for Blue Monday!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I'm from Texas also, LeAnn is our Sweetheart. Actually a friends husband toured with her for about a year or so when she was younger, he said she was a really great girl, grounded their son even got to go along on the road some, he was 5 or 6. I love your blog!
