Cris D'Arques-Durand.. Rosaline Pink Swirl Champagnes and other pink stuff...

On a recent shopping excursion with girlfriends..
we went to Blue Hills Antique Mall in Geronimo, Texas...
and that is where I found these...
These truly elegant and timeless
stemmed Arcoroc (Cris D’Arques-Durand) wine glasses
in the discontinued Rosaline Pink Swirl pattern.

A set of 8, in perfect condition, champagne glasses...  $10...
yes, that's for the set... not per glass...
I did the happy dance all the way home!
and just for good measure.. I found this pretty vintage pink salt shaker at
Beverly's Glory B's Cottage...
I think the pattern is Pillar Optic...
one of my favorite depression glass patterns...
and since it was $3... well I just couldn't pass it up!
I'm joining Beverly for Pink Saturday...
and this bunch of Pink Peonies...
they're just for you as a little "thank you" for visiting me...
down here in French Lique...

Wimberley Market Days shopping... No Swine Flu Detected!

I always take a list when I go to any kind of flea market... because I have a tendency to let my eyes wander through all the uniquely beautiful items, and forget what the heck I was actually there looking for... This weekend, my list consisted of only 3-things...
Chair for Office
Wind Chime
people wearing masks (photos to take)
Here's what I came home with...
I think I did pretty good!

Pretty Pink Glass Candle Sticks...
not depression glass but...
a fantastic bargain at $3 for the pair...

I'm always on the lookout for depression glass. I knew the candlesticks were not, but I didn't care because, I knew they'd fit in just fine with my real depression glass...

I always look for one of 3-colors... Pink..Green..Yellow.
I have some of each...
This pretty sherbet which I thought was Pillar Optic pattern by Federal Glass...
a bargain at $4... probably worth about $12...
Turned out to be the more rare Paneled Optic by Federal Glass...
worth about $30! wooo-hoo!

Some of you know I collect Lladro Angels and Nuns...
Bought this piece from a fellow selling his deceased mothers collection...
He wanted $100, but said he'd take $75.. (I was ok with the $100)...
I said... "$75! Deal!"...
Current Value $245.
Now that was a major bargain!

Oh, and how about things on the list you say... well, got my wind chimes which will be donated to the Baby Bella raffle, and I will put a photo of them in a different post...

and the chair... finally found one... I've been looking for just the right chair, a reading chair in my new office renovation... only $20!
The perfect office chair... Low cane back, on casters, with a perfectly cushioned seat. After recovering the seat in French Toile, I'll decide whether to paint, or leave the finish the golden oak... what do you think?

The last thing on my list was to take photos of people wearing masks to protect themselves from the dreaded Swine Flu... We didn't see a single person wearing one! I was feeling disappointed, because I so wanted to share that with you... and then my sweet stepdaughter, Jen, ran across this little fellow...
Yep, he's from Mexico, so of course he was wearing his mask... Not sure if it will do this little piggy much good, but he was certainly gathering attention from passers-by for his vendors booth!
So there ya go... another successful day at Wimberley Market Days...
way down here in French Lique...

Tablescape Tuesday... black, white and green continues...

It's Tablescape Tuesday, hosted by the extremely talented and gracious Susan at "Between Naps on the Porch"... There are so many talented ladies that post the most beautiful tablescapes... I hope you will visit Susan's blog and visit all the folks posting a tablescape today!

Sunny Sunday afternoons are the perfect time to set a simple table for a light meal outside. Last Sunday it was about 65-degrees and the sunshine warmed the porch up just right. I set out this pretty black and white earthenware from Stafford, which I picked up for nearly nothing at Marshall's after Christmas sale.

Several ladies did tablescapes with black, white and green last week, which inspired me to use green in this tablescape. This old metal table and chairs was a freebie from a friend that moved out of state a few years ago. Free, yes free... couldn't pass up a bargain like that! The pretty lace tablecloth is actually not lace at all... it's vinyl for outdoor use! You wouldn't know, even close up! My chair pads are a black and cream Waverly toile from JC Penny, but I bought all 4 on eBay for $35.00!

I accented my black and creamy white with a few pieces of green depression glass purchased from a special friend whose antique business was closing, and a couple of vintage 1960's tumblers purchased at an estate auction for me, by Ricky, a few years ago.

Oh, and I can't forget my Eiffel Tower metal candle votive... I am going for a French feel here ya know! And my black and creamy white water pitcher from Hobby Lobby... I normally use it as a vase in my home office!

I used black cloth place mats to show off the plates and black & white napkins (purchased at Dillard's after Christmas closeout for $1!).

I adore this transferware pattern of farm life and the horse pulling the hay cart... a perfect plate for a country house.

Added a little French Cafe' Paris coffee cup, and sat it on a green depression glass saucer.

Perfect country table for a perfect sunny Sunday afternoon, down here in French Lique...
and don't forget to comeback tomorrow for Wordless Wednesday... click on the sibebar link for instructions... tomorrow's theme... Favorite Thing...
