"C" is for...

"C" could be for Candy... as in Rock Candy Blog... one of my best friends and one of the most creative souls I've ever had the pleasure of knowing... or

"C" could be for Curious, as in Curious Boys; two of my absolute favorite Junkers on the planet!

"C" could be for Cinnamon, as in Cinnamon Rolls... the aroma of which is calling me back to the kitchen right now...

But today... "C" is for Corn Crib... as in the old Corn Crib at the family farmhouse we just purchased and are renovating... The Corn Crib needs to go, be torn down and moved away... I stepped in just before Ricky took the backhoe to it and torn it down... because I thought some of my junkin' friends might like to buy and own their own Corn Crib... and tear it down piece by piece for the barn wood... so, here ya go junkers... any takers?

"C" is for... Country... like Down Here in French Lique...

  2. Dixie, you've been a busy girl as I noted you are at C. I have been in a corn crib before but not one so big. That must have been for the farm animals too. There were old corn cobs still in it.

  3. Dixie, I bet there would be bloggers jumping at the chance to take the old corn crib away to reconstruct on their property, if only they saw this. I look at our old outbuildings and just know that someone with energy, imagination, and money could make them fabulous. The wood alone in your corn crib is the start of something beautiful--in the right hands!

How exciting that you've bought an old farmhouse and are going to restore it! Will you keep it, move to it, or don't know yet? I hope you share pictures someday.

    Great "C."

  4. Hi Dixie,
I love your corn crib and the aged wood is great, but I don't have a crew or the means to take it down or I'd take you up on it. One of these days, I hope I might be at Aunt Maudie's the same time you are so we can meet. I've always enjoyed your blog and I know we both share a fondness for those fabulous Curious Boys.
    Take care, Betsy
