I want that!

On Sunday, Ricky and I took his #2 daughter Jen, out to dinner for her birthday. We take our adult children to the restaurant of their choice for their birthday... just to give us the opportunity to spend a little time alone with them, talking and catching up with their life... On this birthday... Jen chose Saltgrass Steakhouse... excellent choice...

When ordering our drinks, I asked for a flavored ice tea... my waitress rattled off the list that they served... I chose Decaf Ginger Peach.

My tea arrived in a tall 16.9-ounce glass bottle (accompanied by a nice glass of ice)... bottled by The Republic of Tea... I guess I've been hiding under a log or something, because I've never had this tea... cost... a heaping $4.75 per bottle (about 2-glasses)... I could have had a margarita... but oh my! was this some delicious tea.

At the end of the meal, our waitress saw that I'd peeled the label from my tea bottle... "you can buy this tea on line", she shared... and so...
When we got home, Ricky got on line and found my tea... and while the bottled tea was $4.50 each if you bought a case... the tea bags were much less expensive and right up my alley. I skipped the pretty Republic of Tea container with 50 tea bags for $11.50... and went right to the bulk 250 tea bags for $40. I love a bargain... and I love a delicious tea.

Now, I think it's time for a nice glass of decalf ginger peach iced tea... or will I have it hot? decisions-decisions... down here in French Lique...

  1. Hot or cold? Hard decision to make. If I'm going to curl up with a good book, I usually like a good cup of hot tea.

  2. That must be a good drink if it "sold" you that quickly. I've discovered sugar free mango tea at a restaurant down South Florida. Boy, is it good too!

  3. I love peach tea so I bet it is even better with some ginger in it to give it that spunk!! You did good ordering the bulk. When I make a gallon of Sun Tea, I usually use about 6 bags.

What is the website? Republic Of Tea.com??

Thanks for the heads up, Dixie!!

  4. I've seen that brand in the tins (as you pictured)---I think they are in the Starbuck's coffee shop area in our Barnes and Nobel....I've never purchased it cuz I thought the price was high, BUT since YOU are sold on it (and I TRUST you!!) I will give it a whirl!!

It was interesting to read what you've learned during your bloggy break, Dixie...it was also fun to see your picture....I'm guessing that was your beautiful face!! :) Other than your WW, the only meme I have consistently participated in is Pink Saturday. I think it "fits" with me...not because I have great stuff to share, but because it gives me an outlet to share in a fun and creative way...it lets me be silly or serious and it's OK. Folks accept it. I think that's why your WW was so great, too. It gave me another chance to be creative, but in a harder way..I couldn't write anything. I had the realization this summer that I was spending WAAAY too much time on the computer...I wasn't up and moving like I should be. Unfortunately, for my fat behind, I LOVE blogging and visiting great blogging buddies (such as YOU), so I cut back, but I'm not stopping. This is the busiest time of the year for me...with shows and sales...so my blogging will be hit and miss until after Dec., but I will still be there to visit you, dear Dixie!! I love seeing what you're up to.
Take care and find one of those Tervis Tumblers from which to sip your newest favorite tea! L, Dana

  5. Wow Dixie I've never heard of it either, but now that I am on Nutrisystems, I am looking for any good flavored decaf drink I can find...so tired of water. I love Raspberry white tea and green tea so I'm goinna have to give this one a try.
    Thanks for sharing.

  6. Glad to see you back and "what you learned over summer vacation" :) You are right--if it becomes a resposibility instead of a hobby, then it is no fun any more. Hope you are here for the fun sometimes! I'll give the tea a try-Happy September!

  8. Oh Dixie!
Those are some lessons learned. See that is what happens, people think that their blog is a must. It is supposed to be a fun thing to do. Obligations are just to much with our daily lives. It is fun to post because you want to, not because you have to. Slow down and smell the roses, enjoy and meet new bloggers and have fun. I so love your post. This tea looks absolutely fab and sounds so devine. I am going to have to try some too. Thanks for sharing sweetie. Country hugs, Sherry

  9. Dearest Dixie-
I am commenting here on yesterday's post .

I think we were separated at birth.
I feel EXACTLY the same way.

  10. Dixie, I am not much for flavored tea, but Roy loves raspberry and I serve a flavored tea for bridge and bunko. I might check it out for other flavors. Just give me plain old tea with lots of splenda and lemon or lime juice and I am a happy camper.

  16. I'll have to try this one Dixie. I'm usually not one for flavored tea (except for sugar flavor lol), but I do love peach tea. Thanks for the good wishes for Cait - blogland came through for her because she placed in Symphonic - yippee! Have a great week. Kathy

  18. Iced now, hot when the weather cools.
What a busy week this is and continues to be. Hubby is leaving Saturday for Minnesota Boundary Waters for a 10 day canoeing trip with the guys--older guys. This will be his first time off with those his own age. Doctors, lawyers, engineers...I think they will be able to handle anything that comes their way but it would still be helpful to have an Indian chief!
Sounds like all is well down there in French Lique ;-)
