(Part 3) A Wharf...well... sorta...

Okay... well, not the wharf you expected... somehow time just slips away when you're having fun... on Monday we had a toss-up... we'd run out of time and we had to decide if we wanted to go to the Winery(s) or go to San Francisco and Fisherman's Wharf... the wine country won... then on our way back, just outside of Truckee (our vacation home destination)... we noticed this...
Perfect picnic weather... but where to have a picnic... Oh... I know...

how about along the shores of North Lake Tahoe...

Ricky had never been to Lake Tahoe... so he was definately up for a picnic here!

and me... Dixie... I love the lake, the wind, the wine...

and a nice impromptu picnic dinner... all on the shores of one of the most beautiful natural lakes in the world... what a wonderful place to end a romantic vacation...

a wedding, a winery, a wharf...

and there you have it... the tale of a romantic California vacation. While we'll miss the cool mountain air in California, we're glad to be home, down here in French Lique...

  1. Whoa girl! Slow down so we can keep up with ya! Tahoe is a beautiful, romantic place. Did you test out the water? That is one cold lake!

We honeymooned there 20 years ago last April. We still have an old time photo from The Ponderosa that has hubby in a poncho and sombrero and me in a saloon girl outfit in front of a sign that says "Just Married". Now that was a hoot!

  7. Just finished part 2 & 3, so wish I could have been along. We would have had a good time.
Lake Tahoe was pretty full of boats in that last pic. Looks like you and Ricky had a great time. And you...brave little thing. One does wild things when in a foreign land...is that Dixie blowin' in the wind?
Need to catch up on things in 'G' ;-)

  10. I love that location. Our daughter was born in California, and the temperatures were sometimes a good bit hotter. One day, they were over 100.

  15. I'm late getting here, so I'm finding the end of the trip. If the rest of the trip was anything like this, it was wonderful. I'll go back to see. You and your husband are so good lookin'. Your basket of goodies looks like it was planned for a photo shoot - so charming! laurie
