Perfect picnic weather... but where to have a picnic... Oh... I know...
how about along the shores of North Lake Tahoe...
Ricky had never been to Lake Tahoe... so he was definately up for a picnic here!and me... Dixie... I love the lake, the wind, the wine...
and a nice impromptu picnic dinner... all on the shores of one of the most beautiful natural lakes in the world... what a wonderful place to end a romantic vacation...
a wedding, a winery, a wharf...and there you have it... the tale of a romantic California vacation. While we'll miss the cool mountain air in California, we're glad to be home, down here in French Lique...
Whoa girl! Slow down so we can keep up with ya! Tahoe is a beautiful, romantic place. Did you test out the water? That is one cold lake!
ReplyDeleteWe honeymooned there 20 years ago last April. We still have an old time photo from The Ponderosa that has hubby in a poncho and sombrero and me in a saloon girl outfit in front of a sign that says "Just Married". Now that was a hoot!

How fun is this, Dixie??!! I love picnics, especially the impromptu!! Never been to Lake Tahoe or wine country and I believe I have missed the first part of your trip so I will go back to read it. So glad you are having a lovely time!! You look so pretty in the photo!!
ReplyDeleteBTW, LOVE the header picture!

Oh Dixie, How ever did you come down from such a glorious trip?? This ending was so full of goodness!! Love it. Love the basket of yummies!! The fresh air and the water, it all is my kind of treat...most definitely :)
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy, happy - for you!
Such a perfect end to a beautiful trip. Sorry you didn't make it to Fisherman's wharf, now you have an excuse to go back. Glad you made it home safe and sound and that you had such a wonderful time. Kathy
ReplyDeleteDid you ever get used to the time difference? I slept for two days when I got back from CA.
ReplyDeletePerfect, just perfect! Hope the rocks didn't hurt too bad!
ReplyDeleteLove the header photo. Says it all in a single shot.

Just finished part 2 & 3, so wish I could have been along. We would have had a good time.
ReplyDeleteLake Tahoe was pretty full of boats in that last pic. Looks like you and Ricky had a great time. And you...brave little thing. One does wild things when in a foreign land...is that Dixie blowin' in the wind?
Need to catch up on things in 'G' ;-)
Everything looks wonderful but I was floored by the 73 degrees!
ReplyDeleteAmazing-
I am so glad you had such a good time and welcome back!

What a wonderful trip, Dixie. This picnic looks perfect and the weather...ahhh...heavenly! Your family wedding was so very pretty and how cute is that tractor entrance? Thanks for taking us along. xoxo Nancy
ReplyDeleteI love that location. Our daughter was born in California, and the temperatures were sometimes a good bit hotter. One day, they were over 100.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely a trip LBeau and I want to make. Thanks for sharing yours with us.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a perfect picnic. Love the last picture with the boats in the distance. I can practically feel the breeze off of the water!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful wedding and vacation! That entire area is just one of the most beautiful places on earth. I love visiting there - especially when it's 73 degrees!
ReplyDeleteDixie, don't you just love California? I read each of your posts and it looks like you had a wonderful time!! Love Lake Tahoe!
ReplyDeleteI'm late getting here, so I'm finding the end of the trip. If the rest of the trip was anything like this, it was wonderful. I'll go back to see. You and your husband are so good lookin'. Your basket of goodies looks like it was planned for a photo shoot - so charming! laurie
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous!!! Looks like a great time!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad your back in Texas too!
