Consider the iced tea....

On a very hot and sunny Texas afternoon... it's always nice to enjoy a delicious cold glass of southern iced sweet tea... Now Ricky, a Texas boy through and through... has learned to enjoy iced tea my way... the southern way...

very sweet.... with fresh slices of lemon... thinly sliced... and in a glass tumbler... no plastic cups for this tea! I like to add a little zest...because it's pretty... and... southern... a nice glass of southern iced sweet tea... can you say ahhhhhhhh...my tablescape for Susan... now all I need is... a hot, thirsty man...because the best glass of southern iced sweet tea...
is the one you just finished drinking on a very hot south Texas day...

    Well, Dixie girl...this is just PERFECT for Tablescape Thursday.
    You know I LOVE sweet tea..can't even GET it too sweet for me. And, it goes without saying, I like MY lemons just like you do, down there in French Lique !! (when I type that, it just makes my day for several days!! *grin)
    One of these days, I'm gonna locate French Lique and see if I can't make my way there....I'd love that!!

    It's so funny that I grew up in Texas and always drank sweet tea. Then when I moved to Oregon, no one ever put sugar in their tea, just lemon. Now I just drink tea with lemon. Yours looked so good and I do like a lot of lemon. I love your gorgeous dishes also. Beautiful. Hugs, Marty

    My bunch says it real fast like one word...sweetea! It's got to be sweetened just so, where the sugar piles up at the bottom of the pitcher! I'm like you though, gotta have that lemon and a real glass, preferably a pretty one!

    Oddly enough... in south Texas they often prefer "a wedge of LIME" in their iced tea... I can't even stand to look at it if they bring it like that to my table... I just wrap the "green wedge" in a paper napkin and push it under the edge of the plate... I know... it's OCD, but it's true too... LOL

    Dixie until I started blogging I never heard it called sweet tea...we always just called it Ice tea and of course don't use sugar in mine either..same with hot tea...just like it plain...But I do so love the lemon in mine...May you have a great day...hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

    Tea must have sugar and sliced lemon. That's in the bible isn't it or was it the constitution?
    Anyway both are a must or it's not right.

    That iced tea was delicious. Not sure why we don't drink that here in Eastern Canada... it's definitely a Southern drink isn't it?

    I can't explain it. I grew up in Oklahoma and it seems everybody there loves sweet tea. But not me. In fact, growing up I didn't drink it at all. I do sometimes drink it now but NEVER sweet. I'm diabetic and it is better for me without sugar but that's not the reason I drink it unsweetened. I try not to talk about it around Southerners. I can't stand the put downs. LOL

    And I ALWAYS drink it out of a glass! My husband laughs at me because I will drink soda and water and whatever else out of a plastic cup...but never my iced tea!
