Picture the Farm...

I love the farm...
I thought I'd take a few photos of French Lique...
so you could see what I see every day...

French Lique is a peaceful and beautiful place...

and having that recent rain... also made it a green place...

I think we need to do a little something with the fence...
but I won't be holdin' my breath...
Because life moves by at a slower pace...
down here in French Lique...

  3. I'd like to come live there. If it's alright. I wouldn't want to barge in or anything like that. I hate 'citylife'. :)

  4. It looks so peaceful and green. I love how wildflowers just pop up in unexpected places--duh, I guess that's why they're wildflowers☺

Hope you have a great weekend☺

  10. Hi there! Ah....I agree, there is nothing the slow days on the farm to truly help you find the important things in life...!

(and like you, I am not holding my breath for fence building either!) LOL

  11. OMGosh Dixie. It looks like a place right out of my dreams. I was born and raised in the city and now live in the burbs, but my heart says I'm country all the way (except maybe for the music, lol). I would love to look out my windows and see pasture, cows, "wide open spaces"...I know that's a Dixie Chick song. Saw them when I saw the Eagles two years ago :0)

P.S. Thanks very much for the bday greetings and wishes. I appreciate them!

  12. That's what I need--a slower pace.

We do have gators all over Florida, although I've never seen one in our lake.

  13. Thanks for the romp in the meadow. There aren't any bulls to chase us, is there?
Was just out on my Gator and the cactus have those pretty yellow blooms. But it sure gets hot quickly:-@

    Keep it slow down there,
    Cnady

  14. Dixie, I'm picturing it and girl, I am pea green with envy! Even the name of your town is prettier than mine. BTW, is french lique what the cows do?

  15. Well Grandma Deb... French Lique, Texas, named in honor of French Lick, Indiana... I really didn't do much research on how they got the name... perhaps it's time?

No, no French cows... just plain old Texas cows, bulls and calfs... nothin' special.. just mighty good eatin'... ooops! Shouldn't have let that one out of the proverbial bag...! Most folks think those steaks come from the grocery store!

  17. Hi Dixie! Love your farm pictures. Sounds like life moves at the same pace where you live as it does here. We live in a very rural area. I love life in the country...with an occasional visit to the city.

Thanks for coming by my blog and leaving a comment on my Wordless Wednesday. Now that I know what is going on, I will get around and visit everyone. Hope to leave one next week! ~Debbie

  18. Ohhhh your pictures make me long for the farmland of Illinois that is near my little hometown. The fence post just made me homesick for the country.

Love it- you are so blessed to live there:)

  22. KBeau... that is Lantana... for those of you Non-Texans... Lantana is a beautiful Texas wildflower... here, it's coming up by the road in the "bar" ditch... I love Lantana.. especially when it comes up all on its own!
