Priceless... Revisited... Sunday Favorites

This post was originally published on 06/06/08. There's one thing I know for sure about blogging... you can write about children or animals... and a vast majority are going to love reading your post... This post was the third post I wrote when I started this blog... it's still one of my favorites...
Please visit Chari at Happy to Design for more Sunday Favorites... my new favorite Meme!

From Left to Right....
Roxy, Pepper & Precious
We adopted two cute 3-year old toy poodles last week... Roxy & Pepper. They're adorable! We paid $65 each for the adoption, plus we made a $20 donation.... ie: $150. Took them to our vet to be checked out. She ran a couple of tests, added some vaccines that the shelter vet hadn't given them and gave them a clear bill of health... almost... $178. The almost, they had bad breath! Real bad. Needed a serious teeth cleaning... $240.50 each... ie: $481. And today, they had their hair done... $43.30. Cost to date for our adorable adopted poodles... $852.30. The value of all the snuggles, kisses and French Liques we've gotten from these two adoptees and our own little girl Precious? PRICELESS!
June 14, 2009 update... Pepper has since gone to live with friends in Dallas... they had lost their poodle several years ago... and were thrilled with the gift of Pepper... Roxy and Precious still reside right here in French Lique...

Hi Dixie,
I had a poodle named Sara for 14 years! She was the sweetest dog I have ever owned and I still miss her. I am a big poodle fan and yours are just adorable and remind me of Sara so much. Great Post, Cindy

One more thing. I love how your bloggy background is the same as your tablecloth! Now that is the prettiest coolest ever! Cindy

The pups are precious. I have always acknowledged I spend more on grooming my Caesar then on myself.

This post was originally posted on my middle daughters birthday and she would so approve of how you cared for your adoptees. She has loved all animals since she was just a little girl.

Good for you for adopting a couple of "free" dogs, lol. I have done a lot of fostering and placing of homeless dogs -- our pets are all costly, in time, in money, and most of all in love.

I'm glad to hear that you also brightened the lives of friends by sharing one of your dogs with them. Lovely post! My dog Dion approves, too!

How generous of you to have shared a loved pet with your friends! Animals bring such joy to our own lives, and I miss our little Dickens of a Cairn. And he WAS a little dickens- as terriers can be. Thanks for sharing your fur babies...

CUUUTE!!! I'm a dog person so I LOVE doggies. I just did a post yesterday about our very first pup, only it isn't as sweet as this one...although, it was NOT the pups fault, it was someone elses! Kind of mine...sorta.

Hello Dixie...

So happy to see you join in with the fun of Sunday Favorites again this week...I'm just elated that you're enjoying this Sunday meme!!! Thank you so much for the note that you left for me about my tablescape and dining room...that's so sweet of you!!!

Ahhh...your little furbabies are just precious! Ohh my goodness, not having any dogs myself, I didn't realize that it was so expensive to have one! Hehe! Is $240 normal for teeth brushing? Eeekkks!!! That's unreal!!! But I know that having these little guys are liking having kids! We have kitties and they're such a part of our family! In fact, this morning my honey had his fishing pole out. He puts a couple of weights on the line and casts it out into the yard for the cats to play with! I must admit that I get more enjoyment out of watching my honey than I do the cats! Hehe!

Thanks for sharing your fur family with us! Have a super Sunday!

Money well spent...what sweet furbabies! It is amazing how fast it adds up...but hard to put a price on all the love they give back ten-fold. :-) Susan

Love those doggies. Adopted doggies are the best. My Libby is adopted.
I grew up with a poodle. Her name was Fifi.
My grandaddy use to call her blue dog because she was so black she looked blue.

Love the little trio.

Oh my, Dixie. That was the perfect post today. Bless your heart for also caring. Our Coastal Poodle Rescue here does a wonderful job with all the small rescued breeds, and with the arrival our new little Lhasa Apso,I have really become interested in the plight of these dogs. I think it is wonderful that Pepper has a new family with your friends. Please say hello to Roxy and Precious from Little Buddy. (I know, I'm goofy)

She felt my feelings.
I still morn her after 13 years.
Sorry. Didn't mean to wax maudlin.

Your fur babies are so adorable. I always spent more on grooming than I did on haircuts! ☺ Diane
