Blue Monday... Before and After...

I first redecorated our bedroom a few years ago... I painted it a pretty dark gray-blue to keep it "masculine" for my Ricky... and he likes Blue.. it's his favorite color... I already had Navy Blue lined draperies that once hung in the living room... and then I found great Blue ticking roman shades at Pottery Barn Outlet on closeout for $10 each!

But lately... I've been wanting to lighten up a bit... So I first considered repainting a lighter shade of blue..
and then I found these...

After...

Even Ricky said it made the room feel so much brighter and bigger..

So here... the After...

Still pretty and Blue...

Still using my Blue ticking Roman shades...

Retro Soda Shoppe Clock

This one, a Coca-Cola Clock.. price $100...

just a little out of my clock budget...

and not being a Coca-Cola collector... I couldn't have cared less...

because...

in another booth...

I found this...

A totally cute PINK Soda Shoppe Clock... with no advertising promos...

and the price... $30...

Now, admittedly, I have no idea where I'm going to hang this clock... so it may just end up in my Etsy Shoppe someday soon...

In the meantime.. I'm just going to enjoy this sweet couple sitting at the Soda Shoppe, holding hands and sharing an ice cream soda before the sock-hop...

Shopping with Bev and the Boys...

I love when I have to work in Seguin, Texas on Wednesday...

Wednesday... That's the day that Glory B's Cottage opens for the weekend...

so it's the first day of the week for Beverly...

which means her shop is full of treasure...

and this Wednesday was no exception...

everywhere you look... treasures to be found...

every shelf, every tabletop... 

every place that is any place to put something...

Beverly will find a wonderful way to display...

some treasure... somewhere... (oops! how did Bev get into the mirror photo! wink-wink)

This table has sat in the middle of the front room in Glory B's Cottage...

for as long as I have been shopping there... (NFS)...

The table has sat there... but the treasure on top...

it's ever-changing...

so are you wondering what came home with me?

A heart... made by Beverly herself... (I had to promise not to show her face... she said she was a mess... she wasn't!)

 A vintage hand-made crib quilt... $12.99... yes... no kidding

An orphaned saucer and 3 pearl and rhinestone buttons...

and a vintage veil... probably a communion veil because of the size...

Beverly only takes cash or checks... and me.. I only had $42... all of which Beverly got to keep... So this sweet angel sitting on top of that table...
Well... Beverly put a sold sign on it for me...
and I'll bring more cash on Saturday...

The Boys were having a 10% off sale...
So I had to buy something... (even though Beverly already had all my money...)

I love vintage silver candlesticks... $9.99... these are truly lovely...

or this fabulous chicken wire basket... $11.99... (this will be gone by the time I get back there!)

or a rustic piece of architecture... yep... took this one home...

so... home again... I draped the veil over a vintage lamp's shade...

and the little boy in the frame...

that was a treasure found by the Curious Boys and brought home...

On my recent Thrift Shop shopping trip to Austin with Candy, Sandy and Terry... I found this small set of ceramic canisters with brass lids... for sale "As Is"...

As is... $1.99... $.99... $.69... grand total for all three... $3.67..

As is...

no knobs on the lids...!

Hobby Lobby to the rescue... 3 knobs $2.50 each...

-50% off... they were on sale... total for the knobs...

$3.75...

had to slightly enlarge the holes with a screwdriver...

time to complete the project...

less than 10-minutes...

Total thrifty cost... $7.42...
